Why is the highest quality I can pick below 1080p?
Because YouTube keeps several copies of every upload. Some of the high-resolution files are deliberately stored video-only to keep them small, then merged with the best audio available. If the original upload was only 480p, there is no higher-quality file to choose from.
Can I download YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Shorts are handled like any other video — paste the link and the available formats appear. The resolution is whatever it was shot at, usually 1080x1920 or lower.
What about private, age-restricted or members-only videos?
